How can I prevent acne?
I do not have a problem with acne at the moment, but every now and than I will get zits. I am the worst person to get them because I always play with it (not good, I KNOW!). I was wondering what products I could use that work very well in PREVENTING it. I have read about keeping a healthy diet, keeping your hair clean, and such…but I don’t think that will be enough in preventing it!
there are many things you can try…these things helped for me! mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpenisve and it’s very easy to do since there is only two ingerdients. toothpaste is good also (for some people). put only a little bit before you good to sleep. some people use this as a mask but don’t do it! it can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticable. use the gel or the real thing. try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not to hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. the use cold water at the end to close you pores. the smaller your pores are, the less likely you’re prone to pimples. an egg yoke is good also. i used this when i had pimples. just take the egg yoke (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. change you sheets because they’re are trapped with dirt, oils, etc. zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. you can buy these almost about any large store (such as walmart or shaws.) have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. clearasil, neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start. don’t use body soaps because they dry out your skin. don’t scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin. tea tree oil helps alot, and it can help scars heal faster.
use proactive, even if u dont have acne, it makes ur skin soft and clear as long as u use it twice daily
dont have your hair in your face, like bangs, exercise, and resist the urge to overwash your face!

Everybody’s skin is different. But a healthy diet is what really clears my face up. Stay away from starches like breads and all sweets. My face was much clearer within the first week of eating no starches and sweets.

Acne is not a result of uncleanliness or sporadic washing. Too much scrubbing can really make acne worse.Squeezing and picking acne spots can proliferate inflammation and can cause further disruption of the acne oil sac.
Common causes and risk factor’s of Acne are as follows:
The hormone increase in teenage years.
Starting or stopping birth control pills.
Greasy makeup.
Hard scrubbing of the skin.
Certain drugs, including androgens and lithium.
Vitamin deficiency.
Bacteria and comedonal debris.
Other then that try one of these remedies that I tell my clients-
Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.
Apply a mixture of 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, & other skin infections.
Rub the pimple with a fresh cut clove of garlic.
Boil water in a pan, add some apple cider vinegar. Cool, put a towel on your head and bend over the pan.
Make a paste of turmeric powder in mint juice. Apply on affected area.
Use 2-3 tsp. dried basil leaves to 1 cup boiling water. Steep 10-20 minutes. Cool, and apply with cotton ball.
Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably less swollen. Works best on larger pimples that have not yet formed a head.
Apply ripe tomatoes pulp on acne pimples and keep upto 1 hour, then wash.
Mix sandalwood paste with rosewater and apply on the face. Rinse off after 30 minutes.
Here are three of the more popular methods that you could decide to use.
1. Intake of Vitamin A, C, and E. Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that would help the body get rid of unwanted free radicals. Free radicals are foreign particles that result from exposure to air pollution, peroxides and radiation. A better alternative is alpha-tocopheral which is a potent form of Vitamin E. As with the vitamins enumerated above, collagen would also help your acne scars heal at a faster rate. Collagen supplements come in ointments, or through laser technology using soft, red light.
3. Good skin care. Acne scars can heal naturally, minus other intervening conditions like diabetes or some form of skin disease. Healing time is estimated at 6 to 12 months. The important thing to remember as you wait for your acne scars to heal is that you shouldn’t do anything that would aggravate the situation. Proper skin care can help your acne scars heal properly, and perhaps even faster.
