   Well all the myths you hear about chocolate or masturbating causing pimples is exactly that, myths. Depending on the severity of ones acne there are different degrees of action one can take. If you do not want to see a dermatologist the best thing to fight pimples is using an OTC cream or lotion that contains benzoyl Peroxide. This is exactly what dermatalogist will prescribe but it is about a 1/5 of the the Rx’s strength. If you want to see a dermatologist there are multiple things they can do. One is give a Rx strength (5%) benzoyl peroxide. They can also give topical steroids. They can also give Tretinoin (Accutane) which is pretty powerful stuff and works great well but is a pretty strong teratogen (causes birth defects). because of this if you are a female you must get a pregnancy test and some other tests in order to get the tretinoin. I would say hold off a little bit and just try over the counter stuff for now. hope this helps let me know if you like this input. -jon

   proactiv sucks! do not buy.

   clearsil and neutrogena work best for me but i havent tryed that mary kay product listed above.

   Everyone is different, but Cetephil works for me! And I have had plenty of acne problems. It takes a while to fully get rid of acne, but it is good at keeping it gone.

   1) Cook oatmeal and apply on face for fifteen minutes and wash.
   2) Make a warm bath with blanch of nettle and rosemary.
   3) Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball and wash it after haif an hour for 15 to 20 days.
