I am having a lot of trouble with stress, depression and anxiety. Before getting put on wacko drugs, I want to try to cure myself with Earth’s natural herbs and remedies. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you for your time!

St. John’s Wort, Passionflower, are excellent herbs for depression, stress and anxiety. Certain tissue salts are also extremely effective as homeopathic brain and nerve tonics. They include natrium sulphate and kalium Phosphate.

It is known that our body rapidly uses up reserves of vitamin C when under stress. Good sources of vitamin C include citrus fruits, blackcurrant, vegetables (broccoli, potatoes), red capsicums and chillies, strawberry, kiwifruit, rockmelon, orange juice and cranberry juice.

Vitamin B6 is believed to work in the brain similar to valium-like drugs – hence its importance in your diet as food or as supplement. Good dietary sources of vitamin B6 are chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon, shrimp, beef liver, lentils, soybeans, nuts, avocados, bananas, carrots, brown rice, bran, pulses, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and whole-grain flour.

Avoid common food allergens are dairy, soy, citrus, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, fish, wheat, fish, eggs, corn, food colorings, and additives.

Get plenty of all your "B" vitamins.

Vitamin D can help because it is metabolized from the Sun’s UV rays, which brighten the mood on their own. But other than that, there is no "magic herb" to cure anxiety or everyone would be taking it. And don’t fry yourself in the sun. That’s counterproductive.

Before i answer this I must say that if you are on any type of prescription drug then you need to check with your doctor or the pharmacist before trying anyone’s suggestion here on yahoo answers. Natural herbs can and do interact with many different types of medications. Also, please know that many people think that since herbs are natural that you can’t overdose, have allergic reactions or have adverse effects and that is 100% NOT TRUE, with that said…..

B vitamins and folic acid help with mood and stress and there are several types of herbs that help with depression such as St. johns wort, however, st. johns wort is an example of a herb that you absolutely cannot take with SSRI drugs for depression such as paxil, effexor and several other antidepressants in that category. It increases serotonin levels too high and you can actually have a reaction known as serotonin syndrome which can be deadly. And so, B vitamins, folic acid and if your not on certain medications you may consider st. johns wort. just be sure to verify safety with a pharmacist (NOT the person at the health food store) to make sure you make a safe choice. My best to you.

Vitamin C and D. But you should also go for walks or ride a bike. Being active is the best way to relieve stress. ;D

Check out a vitamin/herbal natural blend called panicyl. Better than taking those dangerous antidepressants or other things.

Since we use the products my stress tolerance is greatly improved ( You must have high quality vitamins! We have used inferior products in the past with no results.) Please contact us and we will send you this information;
here is a recomendation by our doctor for
    Depression
    or Bipolar Disorder
    or Manic Depressive Syndrome
    List All Recommendations

Patients with depression, bipolar disorder, and manic depressive syndrome can see significant improvement with the use of nutritional supplementation. The medical literature is full of well done clinical studies, which show that nutritional supplementation helps all of these problems. Again, most of these studies have been done looking at individual nutrients; however, I firmly believe that key optimizers need to be added to basic cellular nutrition. Obviously, these patients need to continue their medication and only use nutritional supplementation as a means of enhancing their traditional therapy.
    Minimal support for Cellular Nutrition
My minimal recommendation for creating cellular nutrition is to simply take an Antioxidant Tablet and Mineral Tablet that contains as close to the recommended nutrients you can see by clicking on each particular nutrient or tablet. Several nutritional companies are now combining most of these nutrients into one or two different tablets, which makes it much more convenient to get the cellular nutrition that I recommend. The Antioxidant and Mineral Tablets need to offer the cell ALL of the antioxidants, B cofactors, and antioxidant minerals needed by the cell at ideal levels. In order to achieve the best results, in general I recommend taking 2 Antioxidant Tablets and 2 Mineral Tablets in the AM with breakfast and in the PM with your evening meal. Now the exact amount may vary with the particular nutritional company you choose; however, nutritionals should always be taken with food because of better absorption and better tolerance.

    Optimal support for Cellular Nutrition
For the most favorable results for basic cellular nutrition, I also recommend adding to the Antioxidant Tablet and Mineral Tablet some additional Calcium/Magnesium Tablets and essential fats. You are able to get additional essential fatty acids from high-quality Flax Seed Oil or pharmaceutical-grade, filtered Fish Oil Capsules. These recommendations provide all the nutrients at their ideal levels creating the cellular nutrition I recommend in my book, What Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About Nutritional Medicine.

    Enhancers
It is critical that you know the necessity of adding Enhancers, which contain additional potent antioxidants, to your foundational cellular nutrition for optimal results. Patients who are suffering from a chronic degenerative disease or illness are producing more free radicals and are under more oxidative stress than the average healthy individual. Therefore, adding potent Enhancers to the basic cellular nutrition I recommend offers you the best chance to bring this oxidative stress back under control. The synergy and increased potency created by this approach to nutritional medicine is why I’m able to get such consistent improvement in the health of my patients.

However, in order to suit each individual’s unique financial situation, I always offer both an optimal and a minimal plan for cellular nutrition and for adding Enhancers. Obviously, one’s improvement of their health will be more consistent with the optimal recommendations; however, a minimal regime can still produce significant improvement in your health.

    Recommended Enhancers:

    Optimal:
    •Grape Seed Extract – 2 tablets daily
•Increase Fish Oil Capsule to 3 per day – you can even add a tablespoon of Flax Seed Oil with the Fish Oil Capsule
    Minimal:
    •Grape Seed Oil – 1 tablet daily
    •Fish Oil Capsule – 2 capsules daily
Once my patients have recovered completely, I suggest they discontinue the Grape Seed Extract or reduce it to just once daily.
    Optimal Recommendations
    Nutritional Supplement Breakfast Lunch Dinner
    Antioxidant Tablet 2 2
    Mineral Tablet 2 2
    Calcium/Magnesium Tablet 2 2
    Grape Seed Extract 1 1
    Flax Seed Oil 1 tbls
Fish Oil Capsule (may substitute for Flax Seed Oil) 2 1

    Minimal Recommendation
    Nutritional Supplement Breakfast Lunch Dinner
    Antioxidant Tablet 2 2
    Mineral Tablet 2 2
    Fish Oil Capsule 1 1

    Cellular Nutrition for Children

Children ages 1 to 8 years of age:

My minimal recommendation for creating cellular nutrition in children of this age group is to simply take 1/4 of the Antioxidant Tablet dose and 1/4 of the Mineral Tablet that contains as close to the recommended nutrients you can see by clicking on each particular nutrient or tablet.

Children ages 8 to 14 years of age:

My minimal recommendation for creating cellular nutrition in children of this age group

here are 4 mehtods to reduce your stress

    http://www.drugrehabilitationthatworks.com/2009/07/stress-reduction-techniques-3-proven-techniques-to-reduce-your-stress/

Stress Reduction Technique # 1: Put some relaxing music on.

Music has a lot of relaxing qualities, depending on the person you are. If you feel most relaxed listening to ballads, then why don’t you pop your favorite CD in your CD player?

These days, there are also special CDs made for relaxation. These CDs mimic the sound of soft rain or the sound of waves. I highly recommend these nature sounds to help you combat stress. If you have an iPod, you can easily look for these kinds of sounds on the Internet.

Stress Reduction Technique # 2: Goodnight and sleep tight.

Sleep has always been a reliable method to overcome stress. Getting sufficient sleep does wonders for the black rings under your eyes and for your stress levels. However, different people have different sleep needs; some may need only 6 hours or less of shut-eye, while others need around 8 hours or more.

You should therefore try out different sleep routines, and discover for yourself the optimal hours of sleep you need to wake up feeling refreshed and energized.

Sleeping gives your body time to recuperate. If you’re feeling overly stressed, why don’t you go home early one day and make sure you get a good night’s sleep? It’s one of the cheapest luxuries you’ll ever experience.

Stress Reduction Technique # 3: Take your vitamins.

Taking multi-vitamins is good for your health and well-being. Vitamins help strengthen your immune system which makes you less vulnerable to stress.

Vitamin B Complex, for example, fortifies your nerves and helps you deal with stress better. Antioxidant vitamins such as vitamins C (citrus fruits) and E (found in nuts and whole grains) do a great deal to keep your body in top shape.

Fruits and vegetables are also a good source of antioxidants. If you don’t like to take vitamins, you can also substitute them with natural herbs. Ginseng, for example, is known to help reduce stress without any harmful consequences to your body.
