How do I reduce my stress level NOW?
I am working full time and taking college classes and don't have much time to exercise. I can't quit my job, I can't drop any of my classes, and I do get an adequate amount of sleep. How do I reduce my stress level now because little things are starting to piss me off and annoy me that didn't bother me before.
The reason that I ask how can I reduce it now is because I can't deal with how high my stress level has gotten and I can not wait til December to relax. I have had a full schedule before and have never been this stressed out before and don't know why I'm getting all stressed and irritated now.
Meditate
Listen to relaxing music
Learn to relax
Many relaxation techniques can be found in a book called "Instant Calm". They are good if you MUST reduce your STRESS LEVELS RIGHT THIS INSTANT!
Oh – and stop shouting
Try transcendental meditation – its easy, and can take as little as 15 – 20 minutes a day. You might still get stressed, but it shouldn't bother you as much and you should be better "geared" to deal with it. Otherwise, you need to figure out a way to exercise sometime, or BOTH.
I get like that too. The best that I have found is to cut out the carbs and fast food. The sugar brings you up then crashes you down fast. It will make you moody. Try it for a week see what happens. Also, try aroma therapy. Like peppermint. It will help too.
i agree with orinoco. if you can't change your schedule, at least take a minute now and then to meditate. even 30 seconds of deep breathing every once in a while will clear your mind and relax you.
cutting back on caffeine and sugar will help you sleep better and feel better in general. make sure you are eating well. if you need to, take a b-complex supplement as well.
take a deep breath and think happy thoughts
or visualize smacking stupid people over the head with a shovel
either one works for me
drop to the floor and do as many push ups as possible. Feats of strength are very honest. You can always debate whatever problem your having, but can you honestly do 50 push ups.
for me, taking vitamins, ginseng and staying away from sodas helped a lot.. i even started drinking green tea in the morning and chamomile tea at night.. but for the NOW part, i'd go with herbal tea (like chamomile).. there are some for stress, try them out .. and go easy on the sugar.. but that's more of a bandaid than a fix.
Find a batting cage and/or driving course-golf.
Serious! You get up there and swing that bat or golf club and you take out your stress. You can go for 20-30 minutes and I promise you are going to feel so much better!
Well, shout and hit something (or someone) is a good option, but, as you said, you can't loose your job or miss classes…. probably you'll be arrested if you do so….
Try to buy a CD or MP3 player…. Listen to music on your free times…. Eat light food and drink a lot of water.
But specially: FORGET your job and college when you are out of them…. Get out with your friends, talk and laugh a lot
My life is just like yours and these details help me a lot
Hit the gym. Take a walk. Listen to some relaxing music – instrumentals including smooth jazz, electronic/techno, etc. Woosah. You can also experience Tunguska Blast. I'm hearing many good things about this drink in terms of relieving stress, increasing energy, and mental clarity. I've heard it does more. But when you said you were stressed, I thought you could use it. Be blessed.
Dump him ! just kidding.Go see a comedy or buy a really funny book.I watch things like last comic standing it just makes me feel better.I do feel for you Though.Stress can make you sick.
For me the easiest way to reduce stress level NOW is to put on my brainwave entrainment cds.
The cd sort of zaps me and takes me into an altered state of mind. So, for 20 minutes I am in another world and after it ends. I am already feeling so fresh and energetic and ready to conquer the world.
If you have ever used any brainwave entrainment cds or relaxation music, you must be knowing what I am talking about.
Another way could be to use guided meditations, which have nlp as well as hypnosis and imagery which really relaxes you and takes you into a very deep state of relaxation.
You should check it out. I maintain a blog on this and write how it helped me, so you could check it out.
