HoloThink Review: It’s About How You Think

In the last decade, brain science has taken huge leaps forward, and now many researchers believe that our mental and physical health is affected by certain sound frequencies.  The science is known by different names – “neurotechnology,” “entrainment,” and “Binaural Effect” – and these methods are being applied to things such as diagnosing illnesses and treating panic disorder and anxiety.  An audio program based on these premises, you can get better by only listening.  You heard that right – you only have to listen.

Beyond the Spa
You have heard of subliminal messages – those that you cannot hear, but which your brain absorbs anyway – that is how brainwaves are constantly working.  Forget what you may be thinking about Twilight Zone hocus-pocus.  What do you think the medical tests known as “EEGs” measure?  ‘EEG’ stands for electroencephalography – note the “electro” in the prefix.  More and more hospitals are incorporating whole-body and holistic approaches into illness, surgery and trauma recovery, and  audio-therapy is on the rise in step-down units.  Rehabilitation facilities, in particular, are pulling in relaxation audio during therapy.

Sound tables, with speakers built right in, are being designed by scientists and medical professionals, taking this to another level.

Instead of having an anesthesiologist inject a patient with cortisone, steroids, or other intravenous medication, the chronic pain sufferer now has the option of simply lying on a table and listening to specialized sound frequencies mixed with soothing music, which not only has a healing effect, but permits the patient to tune in to his or her own special frequency.  (This is especially comforting for those people who are not real happy about being poked with needles.)

This is an accepted science, as evidenced by the fact that in August 2008, the Cleveland Clinic and the Cleveland Orchestra teamed up for a study of how music affects the brain.  Applying this theory makes a whole lot of sense when you consider that music already affects us profoundly, which is why some people find themselves  moved to tears during the opera.  This is the entire premise of HoloThink.

Understanding the Program
Imparting tranquility to the listener, HoloThink is made up of a sixty-minute audio file.  It doesn’t matter if you’re a rocker or a roller, a country fan or rap enthusiast, or if you have never cared for spa music or classical – you can still easily listen to this.  Give the ten-minute free trial a chance to see if it refreshes you.  The HoloThink audio files are available for immediate download, which means they can start to work for you immediately.  Listen at home, listen in your car, or put your headphones on for ten minutes at work and feel the benefit of a quick attitude adjustment.

I had to see if it worked before I invested in the program (and the investment is minimal – currently only .00 for the program), so I requested, received, and listened to the ten-minute trial.  It did remind me very much of the music that is played during massage and other spa treatments, which I have always personally found to be very relaxing.  During my listening experience, it was easy to close my eyes and ship away all my stress and that just in ten minutes – imagine what a full hour can do for you.  The website likens the experience to a “mental bath” and that seems fairly accurate; it is very refreshing.

What is very interesting is that you can hear things that are not really coming from the speakers, but instead are coming from your own brain while it works to synchronize the left and right input of the sounds on the audio file.  These can sound like waves crashing against the shore, or rolling thunder, and it reinforces what a strong influence sound has on our brains.

The Benefits
While HoloThink makes no claims of curing panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, or any phobia, it absolutely should be considered as part of any treatment or therapy program.  This program can be a great addition to any regimen of breathing and relaxation exercises, and is easily incorporated into both.  These audio files are truly amazing and inspiring in the tranquility they impart.

The program recommends that you listen for between twenty and thirty minutes every day, and as stated above, this can be done in conjunction with relaxation and breathing exercises, to complete your individual de-stressing program.  A complete relaxation experience can include a warm bath, candles or soft lighting and the HoloThink track.

This audio program can also be used to ward off anxiety and panic attacks when carried on your iPOD, iPhone, MP3, or other transportable music device.  Just ten minutes of this program can potentially save you from having thirty or so minutes of a mind crushing panic or anxiety attack.  One of the best things about this program is that all you need is your portable device and headphones in order to be able to listen anywhere.  This can become a part of your work-day routine if you plug in and listen at lunchtime in order to reduce the stress that you may feel halfway through the day.  If you want to return to your workstation refreshed, reenergized, and ready to face the rest of your day, that’s all you have to do.

A program that can help anyone who can hear, HoloThink is the key.  For the price, it cannot be beat – it is equivalent to the cost of two fast-food meals, which are bad for you anyway.  You cannot afford not to incorporate this program into your personalized regimen for fighting anxiety and panic.
