What is classified as high blood pressure?
I counted how many beats I had per minute and it came out to about 75-
So I was just wondering, what is classified as high blood pressure in teens, and if there is a classification for low blood pressure, what is that??
150 over 95 and above is high and needs to be checked out by a Dr. normal was 120 over 80. the beats per min. you counted was your pulse and has nothing to do with pressure.
The heart rate (yours is 75 beats per minute) is normal. Normal is less than 100. Blood pressure must be measured using a blood pressure cuff. Ask a doctor or nurse to help you out or go to the local Wal-Mart or pharmacy. They usually have a free blood pressure cuff meter. Because you’re a teen, some adjustment needs to be made. Hope it helps some
my blood pressure is 110/66, during my pregnancy it got up to 155/94 and that was considered high. although I’m confused by the fact that you counted you beats per minute and are comparing that to your pressure, they are not tha same, if your curious about you beats per minute you sound like you have a pretty normal one as long as you was just sitting around. BPM (beats per minute) in a ten should range between 60 and 90. yours sounds perfect, although I’m not a doctor and if you are truly concerned by this you should see a doctor to set your mind at ease. I do know this, if something was wrong with you, you will know.
is 75 beats per minute
65-95.
Ask your doctor. Mine says that when the diastolic number (the second number in the blood pressure presentation) is consistently 90 or more, high blood pressure is a concern.
Heart rate is how fast your heart beats and has more to do
with exertion or its approximation than with blood pressure alone. Stress seems to increase both.
75 is a good heart rate. but blood pressure is different, it is measured using a sphygmomanometer. normal blood pressure is different for everyone some people take medication to keep their blood pressure low, or below what is usually recomended, to take the strain off their heart. generally 100-130/60-75 i consider normal, though it does depend on the person. anything over 130 systolic i think is getting up a little, though i am more concerned about a diastolic over 75. it is usually when your bp spikes that you are more at risk of sudden health problems, but chronic high blood pressure causes heart disease. somedays my own bp might be 90/50 but i consider this normal for me. if my bp was normally 130/70 and it suddenly dropped to the previous reading i would think that something was wrong, it depends on what you usually sit at. it is normal for your pb to change slightly from one minute to the next and from day to day, but generally it stays within 20 either side.
Honey, blood pressure is different than the pulse. Your blood pressure is taken with a BP cuff. You can get it taken at your doctor’s office, or you can walk into any Walgreen’s pharmacy and get it taken. They have machines there that take it, and sometimes they have a tech there that will take it for you. You could go in there every day if you want to, and monitor your levels, before taking the info in to your doctor.
Are you having headaches? Bloody noses? Feeling faint? If your answer is yes, then please do consult your doctor right away.
I work in the medical field, but I am not a doctor. It is unusual for a teen to have BP problems dear but that doesn’t mean that you’re not having them. I’m going to give you some links to sites that explains everything you should know about blood pressure, ok?
The first site is a High Blood Pressure Risk Calculator. It’s kind of like a quiz and it’s fun to take. It’s from the American Heart Association Organization.
The second links explains a lot of things about blood pressure. If you need anything else, send me an email and I’ll do what I can to help you find the info you need.
By counting your heart rate, it is not the way to measure your blood pressure. To measure blood pressure, you need a spinomenometer.
normal pulse is between 60-100, and normal blood pressure is between 120/80. if systolic is more than 140 and/ or diastolic more than 90 it is considered high. and there is big deference between blood pressure and pulse, take care
