Generally, the difference between Stage 1 Hypertension and Stage 2 Hypertension is a measurement of blood pressure. Stage One Hypertension represents blood pressure readings that range from 140/90 to 159/99. Stage Two Hypertension represents blood pressure readings that range from 160/100 to 179/109. Anything higher than that falls under Stage 3 Hypertension.
